Mother of two sons, medical doctor, PhD in Medicine, Specialist in Psychiatry and Mental Health of Children and Adolescents, Professor of Medical Psychology and Mental Health at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences of Abel Salazar (ICBAS), University of Porto. Director of the Department of Behavioural Sciences (2006-2012), Member of the Scientific Council since 2007; Co-director of the Master program of Legal Medicine and Director of the Master program in Genetic Counselling at ICBAS since 2020. Member of the Ethics Committee of the University of Porto since 2019. Member of the Board of the Specialty College for Childhood and Adolescence Psychiatry of the Medical Association (2002-2009). Member of the Psychiatry and Mental Health Service of the Centro Hospitalar Universitário do Porto, offering specific attention to parenting, particularly to the area of Medically-assisted procreation and Prenatal Diagnosis, being responsible for the Support Center for Obstetrics and Gynecology Services at Mother and Child Center of the North at the CHUP. Founding and Honorary Member of the Portuguese Association for Developmental Disorders and Autism of the North APPDA-Norte (1984), being responsible for its technical direction. Psychoanalyst, Associate Member of the Portuguese Society of Psychoanalysis (SPP) of the Fédéracion Européenne de Psyanalyse (FEP) and of the International Psychoanalytical Association (IPA). Researcher in the fields of Clinical and Translational Research; researcher at Instituto De Saúde Pública da Universidade do Porto - ISPUP (2012-17) and Principal Investigator of the “InSight” Group, CINTESIS since 2019. Her research activity arises from the interest and pleasure in the clinical activity and in the intervention/action.
