CNECV Attends the Inauguration of the Champalimaud Foundation’s New Digital Neurotherapeutics Center
he National Council of Ethics for Life Sciences (CNECV) attended, on May 15, the inauguration of the Champalimaud Foundation’s new Digital Neurotherapeutics Centre (DNTx Centre) in Lisbon, dedicated to the development of digital therapeutics for neurological and mental health disorders.
The CNECV was represented by its President, Maria do Céu Patrão Neves, Vice President André Dias Pereira, and Council Member Miguel Ricou.
The new center, inaugurated in Lisbon, focuses on integrating neurology, psychiatry, neurotechnology, and Artificial Intelligence, utilizing approaches such as non-invasive brain stimulation, immersive environments, and therapeutic gaming.
The Digital Neurotherapeutics Centre aims to develop new forms of assessment and rehabilitation in areas such as Parkinson’s disease, stroke, Alzheimer’s disease, and mental health disorders. The initiative combines clinical research and digital technology in a model centered on personalized care and continuous patient monitoring.
