The fifth mandate took office on 19 March 2015, for a 5-year period, and its President, João Lobo Antunes, and its Vice-President, Lucília Nunes, were elected from among its members. Following the death of João Lobo Antunes on 27 October 2016, Jorge Soares was elected President of the CNECV and Lucília Nunes was re-elected as Vice-President on 14 December 2016. After the end of the legally established period, its members are in office until the inauguration of the members of a future mandate.

At the end of the legally established period, its members remained in office until the inauguration of the members of the new mandate, on 19 March 2015.
