POSITION STATEMENT 11 | CNECV’s Position on Advance Directives (ADs)
Advance Directives (ADs), provided for in Law No. 25/2012¹ and regulated by Ministerial Order No. 96/2014², may take two forms: a Living Will and/or the appointment of a Healthcare Proxy. Both legally enshrine a person’s right to self-determination in healthcare, particularly in cases of serious illness or at the end of life, when the person is unable to express their wishes.
